After lots of hard work, I finally qualified for the Boston Marathon this October, with time to spare even!! But next came the dilemma of where to find the funds to get there. I had made some cute hair accessories for Paisley, and my Dad asked me, "Why don't you make hair bows and sell them?" Easier said than done, after all, who DOESN'T make hair bows and sell them? Me and one of my running friends decided that there was a lack of cute and practical hair accessories for the female runner. Since we have many hours to chat while we run, our little company Twete Bird was conceived. We started out making flowers and clips for little girls as a way to fund our Birde Bands (long e sound on the end of bird). Finally after three and a half months of hard work, our headbands are ready to sell. Here's a couple of pics and the link to our blog.

Christmas

Here's a few pics of the fabulous Christmas at our house. The kids were super excited and so that meant they were awake super early. ( I miss that about being a kid, the excitement of wondering what Santa will bring). Around 10am we decided we had to get out of the house so we loaded up and headed out sledding. I think my kids are getting spoiled, and I'm wondering what it would be like to have a whole year without getting any gifts, only giving, of course everyone would have to be on board, but I think it could be a really good thing.

What's new with Krew??

So, last week Krew decided he was finally going to ride the bike we bought LAST summer. He lasted about 3 days before he started begging for the training wheels to be off. I told him he needed to get better at pedaling before we took the training wheels off, but he kept on us, being VERY persistent. Darren took the training wheels off on Friday, and he actually did pretty well. Today is Monday and he's definitely got it down now. I can't believe he has learned how to ride his bike so fast. He'll really be hard to keep track of now. I might have to wear my running shoes all day, every day this summer!

Only 16 1/2 months and she's finally starting to walk on her own. We had a major set-back with her broken leg, but I am definitely ready for Paisley to start walking on her own. Today was the first day she would actually walk to an object instead of a person!

Jackson's baptism

Jackson was baptized this last weekend. What a great experience that was. He looked super sharp in his new clothes. We are so happy for him and the good decision he made to get baptized. It was a great day!

Darren baptized and confirmed him and did an amazing job. The spirit was really strong during the confirmation. I'm so thankful I have such and awesome husband who honors his priesthood and is an incredible Dad to his kids!

Jackson is 8 !

I can't believe Jackson is eight years old already! He had barely turned 4 when we moved in to our house here in Springville. Time has flown by! Since 8 is a big milestone, I decided I should be a good mom and give him a birthday party. We decided to do a "mad scientist" party which turned out to be a total blast! A little crazy with all those little boys, but they had lots of fun.

Here's all the experiment ingredients set up and ready to go.

The "before" shot. I literally spent all day setting up for this party. It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end. Each scientist had his own lab coat, safety goggles, and gloves.

When our scientists arrived they had their hair turned into "mad scientist hair" with lots of spiker and some hair spray paint!

The first task was to see who could build the tallest tower with toothpicks and marshmallows, they had lots of fun with this and played with it for quite a while.

We did a couple of different experiments with vinegar and baking soda, they really liked this one that made the balloons blow up on their own.

We made slime, and microwaved ivory soap, (if you've never done that, you need to see what happens!) all of which was awesome, but the grand finale was the Diet Coke and Mentos. Jackson told me later that was his favorite part. The camera was too slow to catch the geyser that erupted instantaneously after putting the mentos into bottle, but it was pretty cool!

After this we had pizza and ice cream cone cupcakes that I tricked them with (it was April fools day after all!)

So since Jackson's birthday was during spring break we had his party a couple days early and then did our family thing on his actual birthday. He requested an orange puffle cake, so here's what I came up with.

Easter

Since we woke up to 6 inches of snow on Easter morning, and since it was General Conference, I don't have cute pictures of my kids all ready to go in their new Easter attire. The Easter Bunny hid eggs in the house, so we still had somewhat of an egg hunt. Too bad something was askew with the camera, most of the pictures turned out all blurry. Oh well, better luck next year. Paisley and Krew were so cute finding the eggs, Krew totally loved it and Paisley caught on in no time. She would see an egg, and drag Abby with her to walk to it then pick it up and put it in the basket. (what a smartie!)

This awesome suit was inherited from my Grandpa last August, and we've been anxiously waiting for March 17 to arrive ever since. Darren's office is totally uptight and ultra professional at all times, but every now and then someone will do something super awesome to break up the stressful times of tax season. I was surprised he was brave enough to actually go through with it. I'm sure there were some good laughs today at his work. This get-up is even better than the year he wore everything, and I mean EVERYTHING green in his closet to work at Learn-key. Won't it be awesome when St Patricks Day falls on a Sunday? Leave it to Darren, he's quite the comedian sometimes!

I know this is such a Mom, girl thing...I was so excited today to FINALLY be able to do something with Paisleys tiny bit of hair! Two teeny little pigtails. Maybe she won't be bald her whole life after all! Now if we could just get the little bit of hair right in the front to grow...

I have to admit, I am a little sad at how this makes her look so much older. Since she's not walking she still seems about 10 months old to me.

I was so excited today I could hardly stand it! Paisley got her cast off. She was pretty dramatic about the whole deal. She was in a super good mood this morning, I think she could tell something wonderful was going to happen. She didn't exactly love the saw they cut the cast with, or the last set of x-rays, but it was totally worth the end result!! A really dry leg and really long toe nails! Just kidding, NO CAST!! Yippee!

She screamed the whole time and kept trying to push the casting tech away, so I had to hold her down

I figured the best way to celebrate was with a bubble bath!! Hooray for clean babies!

Christmas Fun!

Wow, I can't believe the holidays have come and gone so soon. It really flew by this year. Darren is already hard at work during his busy tax season, so we especially cherish the relaxed work load of December. Grandma and Grandpa Hill were able to come up for a few days over Christmas. We always love having them stay, the kids were sad that they left so soon! We haven't had any major events since Paisley's broken leg(thank goodness!), so I'll just put some random pics on here for sake of time.

We got Paisley's new fashion accessory today, it's really pink! The Orthopedic Doc will x-ray it again in two weeks to make sure it's doing ok. If everything looks good she will only have to have it on for 4 weeks. It's sad, but she still looks really cute to us! She is handling it pretty good for now, other than she's totally bored not being mobile at all. It might be a long 4 weeks!

So, if being too sick to celebrate her b-day wasn't enough, Paisley got really sick on Monday, had a temp of 103 for two days, had an ear infection, and was throwing up, couldn't keep anything down. She started an antibiotic on Wednesday and was finally feeling somewhat normal for the first time today. Well, it was just too good to be true. We had a small accident at our house today, Jackson was trying to be helpful and was carrying Paisley when he tripped on a toy and fell, bonking Paisley's head on a wooden rocking chair and landing on top of her. She cried like I've never heard her cry before, and after about 2 hours we realized it wasn't just the goose egg on her head that was hurting her. We went to the instacare and learned that she has a broken femur. Wow! what next! I feel almost just as bad for Jackson who is feeling very terrible about this whole thing.

This is her temporary splint, we go to an ortho on Monday to get a cast. All I can say is, they'd better have pink or purple for my little princess!

Paisley is one year old!!!

I can't believe my baby is already one year old! This last year has gone by way too fast. She has always been such a good baby and we have loved every second we've had her. She is absolutely adored by her older brothers and sister. She's definitely the princess at our house. Paisley was really sick on her actual birthday which was the 11th, so we celebrated on the 12th (so sad!).

I can't believe it, where has the last year gone? Krew turned 3 on Saturday, and it feels like yesterday that he turned 2. The only thing he wanted for his birthday was a blue 4 wheeler, and a blue 4 wheeler cake. Well, a red 4 wheeler is what he got and I attempted a blue 4 wheeler cake, and thank goodness he loved it. Krew is such a funny kid and keeps us on our toes with his mischief, but we sure do love him, and can't believe he's already 3.

For some reason, Krew is always taking off his clothes. We were lucky he had pants on for this picture.

As you can see, he loved his new 4 wheeler so much that he thought he was going to sleep on it that night. Sure, why not? he sat on it and watched TV earlier. Looks comfy doesn't it?

New Moon

My crazy girlfriends talked me into going to premier night of New Moon and even talked me into wearing the shirt. I actually ended up having a way fun time and I'm so glad I went. Megan made it possible for us to go the private screening at 9:30 which was so awesome! It was seriously VIP treatment, no standing out in the cold. We got to wait inside, in our seats, and only showed up an hour before it started. I had so much fun, let's do it again! Of course anything I do with these girls is awesome!

Halloween...better late than never (right?)

It has taken me forever to post this, it's amazing how busy life has become for us lately. We had a fun and busy Halloween this year, first the trunk or treat with our ward, then the school dress-up day, and then actual Halloween day, so the kids got to wear their costumes 3 times, which they loved. In case you're wondering...Abby and Jackson were both Ninjas, Krew was a pirate and Paisley was a witch.

As beautiful as the change of seasons can be, it always brings mixed emotions for me. I love how pretty the fall colors are, and the first snow of the season is so fun, but I am so sad that summer is officially over. I love the hot weather, especially for running. Bundling up to go run in the cold just isn't the same as throwing on a tank and shorts and hearing the birds chirp the whole time. Anyway, we drove the Alpine loop a couple weeks ago and this is the view we took in. Gorgeous!

Hogle Zoo

The kids had school off on Friday, Sept 25th so I thought it would be fun to go see all the baby animals at the zoo. There was a baby elephant, giraffe, tigers, and a crocodile. I don't ever remember seeing that many babies there before. We had a great time. Megan and her kids came which made it even more fun. But as adults, we were definitely outnumbered. Only two mom's and 8 kids! Phew! It's a little crazy anytime we all venture out together, but well worth it to be with our best friends! Love you guys!!! Once again, as you can tell, Jackson was a peach for pictures.

The First Day of School!

So, you can see by the pictures just how excited Jackson was to start school. If anything gets in the way of his play he is not a happy camper! He took off that morning and wouldn't let me walk him to school, while Abby on the other hand, who is in 6th grade insisted I walk her to her class. I was completely lost that morning, my house was clean and way too quiet. I sure enjoyed having them home this summer and was sad to see it end. I kept wishing Abby was out in front with her sno cone stand and all the neighbor kids hanging out on the driveway. I realized just how lonely I will be when all my kids are in school :(

Hill Family Reunion

Over the 24th of July we traveled up north to Idaho Falls for the Hill Family Reunion. We went to Rigby Lake where as you can see the kids had a total blast. On Saturday night was a family rodeo at my Dad's cousin's house. We had so much fun seeing all our family and cousins (we all stayed in the same hotel). Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for all their help with the kids. We had a great time!! Looking forward to next year's party!

Fabulous 4th of July

We had a really busy, but fun 4th of July this year. We started by going to the balloon fest in Provo on Friday with the Rapiers and Alexanders and then went to breakfast at Magelby's fresh (the best part). We woke up all the kids at 5:45 am and were headed out to see the hot air balloons by 6:00. After that we came home for naps and then headed out to go swimming. We were all pretty tired by the end of the day.

Saturday we woke up early again and were off to see the parade in Provo. Our super awesome friends (Dave and Krissa Allen) saved us an awesome spot at the parade, complete with a canopy for shade, and this year, rain! This was the first time we had ever gone to the Provo parade and we had a great time...we'll definitely do it again! Later that day was a barbecue and fireworks with neighborhood friends. We had a great holiday, complete with holiday hangover the next day at church.

For one of my very best friends, Megan Rapier, me and our other friend threw her a surprise party for her 30th b-day. It turned out so cute and fun. The best part was Megan had no idea, and was in shock the entire night. Nate Clements jumped out of a giant present and scared the crap out of her, funniest thing I think I've ever seen. We are so lucky to have so many awesome friends!! Happy 30th Meg!!

Abby signed up for the Springville High Cheer camp this summer. She didn't want to go on the first day since none of her friends were doing it, but she stayed and when I went to pick her up she was grinning from ear to ear! She had so much fun and didn't even complain about getting up early for two weeks. They learned a couple dances and cheers which they performed on June 10th at their Cheer Spectacular where we got to see all the different age groups perform. Abby practiced at home really hard the last week and did an awesome job. Rah Rah! All the girls that participated got to be in the Art City Days Parade on Saturday. Lots of fun!

We were invited to go to Wasatch State Park with Darren's sister Tiffany, and their boys. Abby was sad her girl cousins weren't there, but Jackson and Krew had fun with Matthew and Austin. It was a little chilly and quite windy, but it was fun to hang out with the Caldwells, we always have fun with them. I was quite impressed (and so was Jackson) that Aunt Tiffany was brave enough to put the worms on Jacksons fishing hook. There was no way I was going to do it! After, we went and had lunch at the Dairy Keen (of course! where else would we eat in Heber!)mmmmm, yummy.

Abby chose to go to Brick Oven for her birthday dinner(delicious!). Our server made it very special for her, and she loved it when they came out and sang to her. They brought her a lollipop sunday that she was kind enough to share with her brothers. I can't believe she's 11!

Memorial Day at Payson Lakes

I've been wanting to get a canoe lately (I know, kind of weird), but I have such good memories of canoeing when I was little and at girls camp. I want my kids to have that kind of fun. So we packed everybody up, stopped at Subway and headed up to Payson Lakes to check it out and see if we would really want a canoe. Jackson was positive it was going to be stupid and boring, and Abby complained that it was too far away (40 minutes), but Krew was just happy to be out of the house. As you can see, it was not stupid and boring! The kids had a blast and threw and skipped rocks for two solid hours!! As we were getting ready to leave, a nice family asked us if we wanted to take their canoe out, so Darren took all the big kids for a ride (I of course stayed with Paisley). They loved it! It's so pretty up there. Now we know we definitely need to get a canoe!

Bingham Canyon Copper Mine

We were bored Saturday and decided to go out to the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine. It was fun and best of all...cheap! I was surprised at how much fun our kids had, they were amazed at the huge trucks, well, we all were. If you haven't been there, I recommend it.

Standing in front of the tire they use on the huge dump trucks! 12ft 6in tall! Each tire costs $25,000! And each truck has 6 tires. Holy Cow! Oh, by the way, Jackson's friend Logan Herrick is the extra kid in the picture.

5th Grade 10 mile hike

The 5th graders at Abby's school do a 10 mile hike every year in May. I was lucky enough to be able to go with them on Friday. We had sooooo much fun. I packed Paisley (as you can see) and she was an absolute angel. The only time she fussed was when we stopped for lunch and I took her out of the carrier to change her diaper and feed her, but when we were traveling she didn't make one peep the entire 10 miles. I was so proud of her! what a little trooper she was. Abby also did excellent, not one complaint out of her either. It was a great day, a little windy and chilly on the way back, but over all, so awesome! It was a great day for the Judd girls! GOOD TIMES!

So, I have a little escape artist on my hands again. Krew has figured out every way possible to sneak out of the house (usually when I am preoccupied!). He usually goes out the back sliding door and has figured out how to open the gate to the front yard and away he goes! I was upstairs cleaning this morning and thought he was downstairs watching a movie, when I look out the window and see him running down the middle of the street, bare foot, carrying one shoe! Jackson used to do this kind of stuff all the time, although he started at a much earlier age (1year). I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish anything while we go through this phase...ahhh, the joy of 2 year olds!

The first grade had an awards assembly on Friday and presented a handful of students with different awards. Jackson was presented an award for his excellent reading, and love for books. We are so proud of him! The best part for Jackson was the Burger King coupon for a free burger. Love it!

Jackson had been saving up his money for a whole year. With some help from dad, he was able to buy this awesome new bike that he totally loves. Way to go Jackson!

So the saying "the third time's the charm" actually rang true this year. This was Krew's third easter and we finally have a picture where he's not bawling his eyes out. Too bad we couldn't get everyone to look at the camera at the same time. I snapped two pictures, (the other one isn't any better) and then Jackon dribbled chocolate all down the front of his shirt. Still, it was fun to have them in matching outfits. Jackson thought he was "big time" with his real tie! Since it was raining all night, the easter bunny hid eggs in the house, and the kids had a great time finding them. Abby helped fill the eggs with candy this year, which was nice, since she no longer believes in all the holiday stuff. Sigh...they grow up so fast.

We are so excited that tax season is coming to an end. Next wednesday the 15th is Darrens last big day. It's been a long four months! Abby has been such a huge help to me, I would have gone crazy without her. Although we are thankful that Darren has a good job, we are also thankful that the 70+ hour work weeks are coming to an end, and then we are off to sunny St. George for some much needed rest.

I can't believe it...Paisley is now 4 months old and Jackson just turned 7. We are starting to feel old. I know my blob(that's what Darren calls it) sucks, I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out. I guess I'd better get to it!

OK, to all of you that have bugged me to create a blog, here we go!! I'm sure it will be lame for a while until I figure it out, so any suggestions are appreciated.
